How Does Your Air Conditioner Work?
Air conditioners filter cool air by removing heat and humidity inside of your home or office. Air conditioners suck air through its vents, and this air is used to cool gas in the evaporator. In doing so, your air conditioner removes hot air and humidity from the room and replaces it with freshly cooled, de-humidified air. Your air ducts then filter the cooled air throughout your home or office until the whole building reaches a desired, pre-set temperature. At that point, your air conditioner will work to maintain that desired temperature so that your home or office doesn’t become too chilly.
Do Air Conditioners Need to Be Serviced?
Yes! Air conditioners require regular care and maintenance. It is typically recommended that you service your air conditioner at least once per year. If you have an older unit or a unit that has been damaged in the past, then you may want to have your air conditioner checked and serviced a few times per year.
How Do You Know if Your Air Conditioner Needs to Be Repaired?
There are several signs that can indicate a poorly functioning air conditioner. For instance, if you notice that there are dramatic temperature fluctuations throughout your home, then this could be a sign that your air conditioner is not circulating air properly. If you feel drafts throughout your home or office, then this could also be a sign that your air conditioner is not circulating air properly throughout the building. In the even that you believe that your air conditioner is not functioning optimally, you’ll need to call a trusted HVAC technician right away before the problem gets worse and your unit is damaged beyond repair.
